Recently I bought a great new camera for capturing B-roll. It’s a Panasonic G85. I bought it from B&H Photography last week. It was a strange purchase because when the camera body was over $900 dollars and the camera with the kit lens was under $700.00. I am going to buy a few lenses this week. It took a while to figure out basic settings, but once I got them the video came out great.
I also purchased a black C-stand and blue sandbags.
This weekend I shot a highlight video for the Texas A&M San Antonio 2014 Alumni reunion. L.A.M.P. Media Productions helped me capture some of the interviews and B-roll video production in San Antonio. The campus has substantially grown in the past 10 years and has an outstanding Cyber Security/Computer Science program. I hope that we can do more work with them in the future.
We are also wrapping up our shoots from SiteOwl, which is an app that helps notify business’s with security cameras about their functionality. If a camera goes down, they will get an immediate alert to the owner and the technicians. DEKO 37 did four different videos. Three were promotional videos and the other was a testimonial video from a client that uses SiteOwl.
This weekend I am very excited to shoot a commercial for a unique photo booth company. They hired models for the shoot and we will be filming it at a studio. This shoot will take a lot of different color of gel lighting and will be a little challenging, but we will get it down.
I am still working on converting the script ‘Odd Jobs’ from a feature film to a short film. There is a film grant for the shorts due by July 31st and I will shoot a proof of concept to show the film council my work by then.
